PANEL 1. Medium shot of Lye, now standing right in front of Capshaw's desk, leaning into him.
LYE: C'MON, JOE. YOU KNOW THAT'S NOT TRUE.
LYE: MY STORY ON THE FLOWER SHOW IN WHITTINGTON PARK WAS PRETTY BAD, TOO.
PANEL 2. Capshaw, starting to soften.
CAPSHAW: THAT'S NOT FUNNY, LYE.
CAPSHAW: LOOK, I KNOW YOU THINK YOU'RE ABOVE THESE KIND OF STORIES, BUT…
PANEL 3. Laurel is now sitting on the corner of his desk, showing some leg.
LYE: YOU KNOW I CAN WRITE, JOE. AND YOU KNOW I CAN HANDLE THE REAL STUFF.
LYE: PUT ME ON THE CRIME BEAT.
PANEL 3. Wider view. Show both characters.
CAPSHAW: THIS IS THE PORT, LYE.
CAPSHAW: IT'S TOO ROUGH ON THE STREETS FOR A GIRL LIKE YOU. THIS TOWN'LL EAT YOU ALIVE.
LYE: I CAN HANDLE IT.
PANEL 4. A secretary, CAROL, pokes her head into the office through the door. Capshaw and Lye turn toward her as she does.
CAROL: THERE'S SOMETHING ON THE RADIO YOU NEED TO HEAR, CHIEF!
PANEL 5. Medium shot of Capshaw turning on the radio.
VOICE: (From the radio) …I REPEAT. THIS IS LODESTONE SPEAKING. IF THE CITY REFUSES TO PAY THE AMOUNT I HAVE DEMANDED, I WILL DESTROY THE BLACKWATER BAY BRIDGE WITH MY ELECTROMAGENTOTRON….
PANEL 6. Capshaw, in medium close-up, facing away from the radio beside him.
CAPSHAW: LYE, GET OUTTA HERE. CAROL, SEND MESSICK AND WEST IN HERE – THIS IS BIG!
VOICE: (From radio) …YOUR OFFICIALS HAVE TWELVE HOURS TO COMPLY…

Really enjoying the transcripts on this. Do you work out a “bible” before hand? So like very minor characters like Carol the Secretary are described in some detail..
I bet she’s going to follow the story.
